Heavy Metal Analysis Services
C. elegans is a extremely ideal model for environmental science and toxicology research due to its simple anatomy, easy reproduction, and genetic susceptibility. Heavy metal exposure disrupts the cellular structures and normal physiological functions. By analyzing the changes in various C. elegans indicators, we assess the risk level of heavy metals in the environment, unlock the toxic mechanism of heavy metals on organisms, and screen anti-pollution compounds.
Our Services
Based on the contributions of C. elegans to neuroscience, pharmacology, toxicology, etc., as well as the wide application of various fluorescent proteins in C. elegans, we have developed a series of service systems about heavy metal exposure, including but not limited to:
ØHeavy Metal Stress Model Construction
Induce a stress response to C. elegans after exposing the worm to heavy metals such as copper, cadmium.
ØQuantification of Fluorescent Markers
Analyze stress response using transgenic C. elegans labeled with fluorescent markers, where increased fluorescence correlates with higher stress levels.
ØToxicity Evaluation of Heavy Metals
Assess heavy metal effects on the growth, development, reproduction, and behavior of C. elegans.
ØScreening of Anti-heavy Metal Stress Compounds
Screen drugs or natural active substances with anti-heavy metal toxicity using C. elegans model, providing a new source of drugs for the treatment of heavy metal poisoning.
