VIII Spanish Worm Meeting

The VIII Spanish Worm Meeting was successfully held from 21st and 22nd of October 2022 at the CIBIR (Center for Biomedical Research of La Rioja), in Logroño. The conference organizers include Juan Cabello, Eva Gómez Orte, Cristina Romero Aranda and Begoña Ezcurra. This meeting is a biennial gathering of the scientific community working with C. elegans. Many laboratories participated in the meeting, especially laboratories located in Spain or Spanish scientists working abroad.

The leading speakers are Andrew Fire (Professor of Pathology and Genetics Stanford University School of Medicine), Nuria Flames (Instituto de Biomedicina de Valencia. CSIC), Antonio Miranda-Vizuete (Instituto de Biomedicina de Sevilla CSIC) and María Olmedo (Universidad de Sevilla). Topics covered development, ageing, neurobiology, metabolism as well as technical approaches to study C. elegans. The meeting created an atmosphere of scientific discussion, networking opportunities and a great chance to have fun with friends.
